Mimi Ito

Main investigator of the Digital Youth project, and specially focused on the documenting of the initiation and forms of involvement of children with the new media, Mimi Ito leads a research about Japonese technoculture, observing how children in Japan and the United States get involved in the combinations of the post-Pokemon media.
Her research on the use of mobile phones in Japan is available in a book co-edited by her, “Personal, Portable, Pedestrian: Mobile Phones in Japanese Life”. In the past, she was a researcher for the Institute for Research on Learning, Xerox PARC, Tokyo University, the National Institute for Educational Research in Japan and Apple Computers.
