Juca Varella
Sub-editor of photography and coordinator of the Photo Repórter project at O Estado de São Paulo newspaper, which receives photographs from the readers through e-mail and cell phones.
Beside doing the coverage for important events, such as the World Cup in France in 1998, the Olympics in Sydney, Australia, and the World Cup in Korea, he was the only Brazilian photographer sent to cover the war in Iraq, which gave way to the book entitled Diary of Bagdad, co-authored with Sérgio D’Avilla.
