Giselle Beiguelman – retrospective
In our challenge to focus this art, we’ve decided to make evident not the diversity of views that occasionally, casually glance upon the expressive possibilities of the mobile technologies, rather we’ve decided to linger on one unique, rigorous and, attentive view only. Giselle Beiguelman’s view glances upon diversity of nuances that these technologies suggest. In fact, it’s not exactly about a ‘view’ but, an immersion in a relationship net within these systems that lean upon research, studies and experimentation.
Facing these technologies requires consistency and knowledge of the issues that permeate the present context – it presumes the least distance from the excitement before the seduction artifices inserted in the wireless gadgets.
Giselle’s view echoes in our own purposes of elucidating the complexity of the relationships that unfold in the mediated societies, in their political schemes, visual consume and production strategies. It’s about an intention we hope can be shared by all those devoted to observing life in its more current ways, extracting from conflicts and technological mediations the inspiration to their works or, a better understanding of the context surrounding us.
